Kilimanjaro

These flowers are only found on the slopes of Kilimanjaro.

 

During our jeep trip to the start of the walk we stopped to give these kids a lift to school saving them a 5km walk. I couldn't help noticing that we did not stop for the girls we passed a little further on.

During the ascent you pass through 4 distinct types of foliage, dependant on altitude and temperature from the arid plains up to the barren snowline. This is somewhere in between in the tropical rainforrest.
